City of La Quinta selects Harmari for Short Term Rental Compliance

Harmari is pleased to announce that the City of La Quinta has contracted with LTAS Technologies Inc. to provide identification, monitoring, outreach and compliance services for their Vacation LQ program for the next 3 years.  The Harmari product has several components to achieve an increased level of compliance to bring all Short Term Vacation Rental (STVR) operators into compliance:

  • A sophisticated data mining and identification system covering AirBnB, HomeAway, Flipkey, Craigslist and other websites where STVRs are advertised
  • An outreach campaign via phone and direct mail to unregistered STVR operators to get the necessary permitting in place and to collect and remit Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) to the City
  • 24/7 STVR complaint tipline to allow an easy, one-stop reporting of noise, traffic, and other disruptions caused by STVRs
  • Automated notification system via SMS text, email and robo-call to the licensed STVR operator point of contact for any complaints from the tipline known to come from his/her STVR

The goal of this program is to achieve the following:

  • A safe and enjoyable community for both residents and guests staying at STVRs in the City
  • Prompt, technology-driven feedback about complaints to licensed STVR operators about noise issues
  • Strong compliance efforts for any unlicensed STVR operators
  • Ensuring a level playing field for TOT collection for the entire hospitality industry

Should you have any questions about this program, feel free to contact the City at (insert name and contact details).   If you receive an SMS notification from Harmari regarding one of your STVRs, please try to investigate what is happening with your guests and try to resolve the issue.
